The Best Portable Power Station for RV Life

Over the years, I’ve made several videos about my solar setup in my 2005 Itasca Spirit Class C RV and how that setup has filled all my full-time RVing needs. Since adding Starlink to my RV Life, my power needs have increased, and I started testing different solar generators and portable power stations.

I’ve tried them all, and over the last 18 months, my backup portable power station of choice is from Bluetti. From the Bluetti AC180, which is an excellent choice if you have minimal power needs in your RV or Van life, to the AC500 +B300S, which can power your entire RV life or serve as an emergency backup power source for your home, to my current backup the AC200L which has been a game-changer in my RV Life. Let me tell you why.

1. Power Capacity

The Bluetti AC200L boasts a 2,400W AC Output and a whopping 3,600W Power Lifting Mode. All this power paired with a Pure Sine Wave inverter, I can even run my powerful Vitamix Blender! (However, I cannot run my air conditioner without a soft start). It will power your essential appliances and electronics in your RV or home in case of a power outage. For example, it’ll run a 150w refrigerator for 13+ hours, a CPAP for 115+ hours, 10w lights for 400+ hours, and charge a 100W laptop 46 times!

2. Battery Performance

Bluetti’s AC200L comes equipped with the industry-leading LiFePO4 Lithium battery. The LiFePO4 Lithium battery is a powerhouse, providing 2400wh and more than 3000 cycles to 80% capacity. This means your Bluetti AC200L will last more than TEN (10) YEARS! Also, if you need a backup power source for your home in case of an emergency or power outage, a single charge will last 3-6 months. So you can charge it up every few months and have peace of mind the Bluetti AC200L will be ready to go when you need it.

3. Ports and Outlets

One of my favorite things about the Bluetti AC200L over the AC180 is the 30-amp outlet. YES! I can plug my entire RV into it, making life so much easier when I can’t plug into shore power and have had a series of cloudy days or rainy weather! In addition, it has:

  • 4 x 120V/20A Outlets
  • 1 x 120V/30A NEMA TT-30
  • 2 USB-C ports
  • 2 USB-A ports
  • DC Outlets: 1 x 48VDC / 8A (RV Outlet) ; 1 x 12V/10A (Car Outlet)
  • *All Regulated

For a total of 2,400W. Yes, you can charge eleven things at once!

4. Super Fast and Convenient Charging

I love how fast the Bluetti AC200L charges! When I plug it into shore power, it’ll go from 0-80% in just 45 minutes (90 minutes to full charge). This means I can charge it almost anywhere, on the go! I can also charge it with solar, (I have the Bluetti PV350 and it takes about 6 hours with full sun, to charge), car charge outlet (cigarette lighter) 10-20 hours, (perfect solution for long drives), or AC + Solar.

5. Build Quality and Durability

My life in an RV is rugged! I travel rough roads that cause everything to bounce around and camp in dust and sand storms regularly. Bluetti builds its products to withstand rugged outdoor conditions. And my Bluetti AC200L is working flawlessly after months on the road with me! Even in Mexico!

6. Portability and Weight

Being able to carry my portable power station outside to charge is critical in my RV life. The AC200L comes in at 62.4 lbs (28.3kg). This means I’m still able to lift and carry it short distances. If this is too heavy for you, consider the AC180L which is only 35 lbs (16kg). It’s also easy to store with its compact design at 16.5″ h x 11″ d x 14.4″w( 42 x 28 x 36.65 cm).

7. Easy to Use

All the controls are easy to read on the LED screen, it’s intuitive and easy to use. You can also download the Bluetti app and monitor your power station from your phone. You can even turn the AC/DC on and off, and turn the whole unit off.

8. Noise Level

I can still enjoy my surroundings when running my Bluetti AC200l because it makes no noise when I’m using it. And only minimal noise when charging.

9. Price and Value for Money

Bluetti is not the cheapest power solution on the market. But like my grandfather always used to say, “You get what you pay for.” I’ve tested cheaper products and Bluetti has been, hands-down the highest quality, the best performing, the most reliable. Bluetti also has first class customer service should you ever have a question or concern about your Bluetti device. . The AC200l, at the time of this writing, is about $1999, but you can save $600 NOW by CLICKING HERE or copying and pasting this link:  https://shrsl.com/4gf8k

And if you’re thinking about installing a solar system on your RV or Van, consider the cost  and of the batteries, controller, inverter, converter, and solar panels and installation I believe power stations like this are the wave of the future for RV living.

10. Scalability

If your power needs change and you need more power, the Bluetti AC200l is Expandable w/ 1 x B230 or 2 x B300, adding up to 6000 wh, for a total of over 8000wh.

Not only is Bluetti a great product, if you ever need help with a product their customer service is top notch. I’ve been very happy with my Bluetti for powering my RV Life.
